We are excited to invite social science advocates to COSSA’s tenth annual Social Science Advocacy Day on April 8-9, 2024! Our signature, members-only event will bring together social and behavioral science researchers, faculty, students, association professionals, and other advocates from across the country to meet with their elected officials in Congress to discuss the value of our sciences and the importance of federal funding. 2024 Social Science Advocacy Day
On April 8-9, COSSA held its 10th annual Social Science Advocacy Day events in Washington, DC. Over 60 social and behavioral science researchers, students, and advocates from 18 different states headed to Capitol Hill to meet with more than 60 offices in the House of Representatives and Senate, all carrying a message about the need to prioritize funding for social and behavioral science research. Social Scientists Take to Capitol Hill for Social Science Advocacy Day
On April 24-25, COSSA held its annual Social Science Advocacy Day events in Washington, DC. Over 50 social and behavioral science researchers, students, and advocates from 11 different states descended on Capitol Hill to discuss with Congress the importance of funding for federal agencies and programs that support social and behavioral science research. Take Action to Support Social Science Funding!
Social science is here to help! During COSSA’s 2023 Social Science Advocacy Day, advocates shared stories about ways social science is informing policy and improving lives. They did their part to secure robust funding for the federal agencies and programs critical to our sciences. Now it’s your turn. COSSA has announced the recognition of Edward Liebow, Executive Director of the American Anthropological Association (AAA) and former Chair of COSSA’s Board of Directors, as the recipient of its 2023 Distinguished Service Award. Next Tuesday, April 25, is Social Science Advocacy Day. Early Bird Registration for Social Science Advocacy Day Ends March 3!
Join us in Washington, DC on April 24-25 for Social Science Advocacy Day and make your voice heard in support of social and behavioral science! Register before March 3 to receive the Early Bird rate of $95. After March 3, the registration rate increases to $125. Students are always eligible to register for $50. Today is Social Science Advocacy Day; Advocates Highlighting Social Science for Recovery and Beyond
On April 27, more than 60 social and behavioral scientists are participating in COSSA’s seventh annual Social Science Advocacy Day, meeting virtually with Members of Congress and their staff about the many ways social and behavioral science can help the nation recover from the pandemic and tackle the other major challenges it faces. Advocates from 21 states will conduct approximately 80 meetings with Congressional offices.
